Biography
Mia Buckton studied art at St. Martin’s School of Art, London where she took a degree (BA hons) and a post graduate printmaking course. She also studied at The London College of Printing (foundation), the Sir John
Cass School of Art under John Epstein and recently attended The Slade School of Art to study painting.
She started illustrating while still at college. Her work
has appeared in Tatler, Elle, Just Seventeen and Carlton Books. Commissions include: Penguin Books, The CW Daniels Company, GMP Publishers, Decca Records and Reed Publishing. She has also been commissioned to
paint backdrops for Dame Kiri Te Kenawa and the
Toyota Rav 4 commercial (USA).
Mia’s current work has placed a greater emphasis on
fine art printmaking techniques and painting. Exhibitions include:- The Royal Academy, The Barbican, The AOI Gallery, Whitechapel Art Gallery, The Docklands
Gallery, Letchworth Museum, Zella 9 Gallery, Musee
Adzak - Paris, The Truman Building and The Mall Galleries.
She is also involved in designing sets and costumes for
film as well as acting.
